Werkstatt richtig planenPlanning a workshop properly

ARBEITSFLUSS, STROM, LICHT, STAUB UND SICHERHEIT ALS SYSTEM · DE / ENWORKFLOW, POWER, LIGHT, DUST AND SAFETY AS ONE SYSTEM · DE / EN

A good workshop does not come from as many machines as possible but from good zones, a safe power supply, light, dust management, ergonomics and clear paths.

KERNAUSSAGEN
KEY POINTS
  • Workshop planning begins with workflows and risks.
  • Power, light and extraction are infrastructure, not accessories.
  • Escape routes, fire loads and storage zones belong in the plan.

Zonen statt ZufallZones instead of chance

Viele Werkstätten wachsen zufällig. Dadurch entstehen lange Wege, Kabelprovisorien, schlechte Beleuchtung, Staubverschleppung und Brandlasten neben Zündquellen. Besser ist eine Zonierung nach Prozessen: Materiallager, Zuschnitt, Bearbeitung, Montage, Elektronik, Schleifen, Oberfläche und Akku-/Ladebereich.

Many workshops grow by chance. The result is long distances, cable makeshifts, poor lighting, dust carried everywhere and fire loads next to ignition sources. Zoning by process is better: material storage, cutting, machining, assembly, electronics, sanding, finishing and the battery charging area.

This zoning separates not only work steps but also risks. Sanding dust does not belong at the electronics bench, solvents not next to chargers, cardboard not right beside the laser or 3D printer.

InfrastrukturInfrastructure

Electrics must be planned so that cable reels and power strips do not become a permanent state. HSE recommends considering electrical equipment for suitability, supply, condition and regular inspection [1]. For lighting, CCOHS and HSE show that visibility, contrast, glare and shadows affect safety and error rates [3] [4].

Werkbank und MaschinenWorkbench and machines

The workbench is the working centre. It needs stability, light, power, access to tools and room to move. Machines need not only floor space but material flow, maintenance access, an extraction route and safety clearance.

The most common planning question is not 'where does the machine fit?' but 'how does material get in, how does it get out, and where do chips, dust, cables and the operator stay?'.

FazitConclusion

A well-planned workshop is safer, faster and less error-prone. Planning is not a matter of looks but of risk reduction.
